Sing for the season at Fenwick Island tree-lighting

How about a little sand with your Santa Claus?

Fenwick Island will welcome the Christmas season with a “Sea the Holidays” community event.

Residents and neighbors are being invited to a holiday gathering on Friday, Dec. 2. People can enjoy caroling, the tree-lighting and shared treats from 6 to 9 p.m.

The night begins at the park, with the tree-lighting and caroling, accompanied by music from local musician Bob Palladino.

Afterward, the party moves to town hall. Guests should bring a finger food, hors d’oeuvre or dessert, and BYOB. (Food can be delivered to town hall before or after caroling.)

Holiday decorations and light displays will bring cheer to a chilly season.

The event had been on hiatus for about eight years before it was resurrected last winter.

“It was so nice when we did it. It was a nice way to start the holidays,” organizer Barbara McCoy had said in 2015.

Guests can also bring a canned food donation for a local food bank.

Located next to Fenwick Island Town Hall, the Town Park is at the corner of West Cannon Street and Coastal Highway.
