Ellen Elizabeth Rudolph, 80, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2018, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Selbyville, Del., on Dec. 16, 1937, the daughter of the late Elwood and Maude (Jones) Hudson. She was predeceased by her sibling, Robert E. Hudson.
Rudolph was a graduate of Selbyville High School and received her radiologic technologist degree from Peninsula General Hospital. In her retirement, she still enjoyed being active in her community by serving on the Indian River Senior Center finance committee and their board, as well as serving on the Beautification Committee of the Magnolia Meadows HOA.
In her leisure time, Rudolph loved to travel and dance, and she found great pleasure in the pursuit of her painting. She also enjoyed the time spent with her church family at Peninsula Community Church.
She will be remembered as a very caring person, the rock of her family, devoted mother, wife, sibling and friend. Her strong will and sense of humor will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years Donald M. Rudolph; her loving daughters, Kimberly Fryberger and her husband, Thomas, of Ocean View, Del., and Donna Maher and her husband, Michael, of Newport News, Va.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, whom she cherished very dearly; her siblings, Esther Dianne Williams and her husband, Donald, and Ted Lee Hudson; sister-in-law, Margaret Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews very dear to her heart.
