Candidate thankful for Ocean View Candidates’ Night

I thank the Town of Ocean View and its Board of Elections for making the Candidates’ Night on March 27 at Town Hall a successful event. Thanks also to the residents who took the time to attend and ask thoughtful questions.

Voters have a choice on April 13. I have administrative experience, served two terms as a town council member in Maryland, and three terms on the governing board of Coast Guard Mutual Assistance. I work well with others, and know that respect and collaboration are essential when addressing issues.

As an example, when I noticed last year that improvements were needed regarding text-to-911 emergency calls made by deaf and hard-of-hearing residents, I reached out to our police department’s chief, Ken McLaughlin, Sen. Gerald Hocker and Rep. Ron Gray. I then coordinated meetings of members of the deaf community with the director of the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center and the State 911 administrator, and working together we got good results.

It will be a privilege to join the mayor and council members in working to keep Ocean View safe, fiscally sound and a great place to live. Please contact me at with your concerns or questions.
