Reader responds to previous letter

I was going to let this go, but after re-reading a very smug and self-gratified Letter to the Editor on gun control, I feel compelled to write.

Instead of just bashing those who want a safer Delaware, country and world, it would be much more helpful to offer suggestions and solutions to this very serious issue. The writer may not agree with Sen. Bryan Townsend, but he offers nothing else except criticism. That’s not the way to get things done. I appreciate efforts that offer solutions. As a citizen and voter, I want my elected officials to address issues that are important to me.

It takes a lot more effort to step up and discuss very serious and important issues, than to just say, “It’s time to let the gun-control issue go.” Not when some many people want a better solution. This issue needs to be addressed by sane and reasonable people. And I for one, would sure like to know what “other issues that impact the citizens of Delaware” (and our Country) are more important than the safety and wellbeing of our citizens and our children.
