Church fundraiser a hit, thanks to many


Thank you to everyone who supported Prospect African Methodist Episcopal Church fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Modern Maturity Center, Dover. For those of you who were not able to attend, you really missed a treat. It was a sold-out event. There were people from all over the state of Delaware, as well as out of state.

The keynote speaker was Bryan Stevenson, Esq., former member of Prospect AME Church, author, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), a human-rights organization in Montgomery, Ala.

Kudos to the Prospect AME members and family for organizing a perfect fundraiser and a memorable evening. Thank you to all sponsors, ticket purchasers, attendees, program participants, donors, committee members, and so many others, for your support.

Prospect AME church has launched a capital campaign with a goal of raising $170,000 to address structural and foundation issues, add a handicapped-accessible bathroom, install a HVAC system. The fundraising will be ongoing, and this event was the kickoff.
