Frankford fire hall hosting annual Holiday Expo event
The annual Holiday Expo at the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company is “our biggest one yet,” according to one of its organizers, offering more than 30 vendors and crafters as well as baked goods and of course, the Ladies’ Auxiliary’s famous chicken salad for lunch.
“All three rooms will be filled with vendors and crafters,” said Kelly Townsend, fundraising committee member, of the third annual Holiday Expo, set for Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ”We’re even pulling our antique truck out” to make more room for tables, Townsend said.
Crafters will be there with a wide variety of handmade items, Townsend said, ranging from goat milk soaps and lotions to holiday wreaths.
Among the tables will also be a number of vendors selling items including Young Living Oils, Mary Kay cosmetics and other popular items, Townsend said.
Hungry shoppers will be in luck, as the auxiliary is offering hearty fare for both breakfast and lunch on Saturday. In the morning, Townsend said, scrapple, egg and cheese sandwiches and coffee will be available. Starting at lunchtime, the auxiliary will begin offering its popular chicken salad as well as hot dogs, French fries and homemade vegetable beef soup.
Food will be available till about 2 p.m., Townsend said, or till the chicken salad sells out.
In addition to the breakfast and lunch items, the auxiliary as well as some crafters will be offering baked goods for sale.
Townsend said the table rental fees for the Holiday Expo will go toward the auxiliary’s community projects, including Thanksgiving and Christmas help for local families. The auxiliary works with the G.W. Carver School to provide meals and gifts for several familes during the holidays, she said.
The Frankford Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary’s Holiday Expo will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fire house, located at 7 Main St., Frankford. Admission is free; parking is available.
