QRCF to host Caribbean Christmas on Saturday

The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation’s Caribbean Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 7, promises an evening featuring foods and beverages donated by local restaurants, as well as an auction, raffle and gifts donated by area artists and businesses.

This year, proceeds will benefit the Delaware Center for Inland Bays.

Planned for 7 to 11 p.m. at Mango’s, at 97 Garfield Parkway on the boardwalk in Bethany Beach, Caribbean Christmas will offer sample tastings of selections from local restaurants, as well as wine, beer and Mango’s margaritas. Tickets cost $65 each. See www.qrcf.org or call (302) 537-7723 to purchase tickets or for more information. Guests must be 21 or older.

Formed in 2001 by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, the foundation distributes funds to organizations that serve the community, with priority given to those that inspire neighborhood improvement, upgrade social services, enhance educational efforts and benefit the area and its citizens.

The foundation operates two annual scholarship programs, one through the local school system and the second through the Bethany Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, as well as high school art departments, and provides additional grants.

Established as a nonprofit in 1994, the Delaware Center for Inland Bays was the culmination of more than 20 years of public participation and investigation into the decline of the inland bays and remedies to restore and preserve the watershed.
