Valliant Woodworks to host open house on Sunday

Gifts and other items fashioned from wood, jewelry and fresh-roasted coffee will be on display and for sale at Valliant Woodworks’ Fifth Annual Open House from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Owner Skip Valliant, who is a woodworker, said his creations will be exhibited, as well as pieces made by his son, Josh Valliant, and daughter, Krista Valliant Johnson. His daughter is one of the few female wood-turners in Delaware, he noted.

Bowls, pens, custom furniture and cheese trays, ranging in price from $25 to $300, will be available, Valliant said. Handmade rings, earrings and necklaces, made by Lea Marasco of Lea’s Beach Jewelry, will also be available, selling for $5 to $25.

Also featured at the event will be the offerings of Local Coffee Roasting Company, operated by Valliant’s son Tyler and daughter-in-law Jenni.

Guests who visit Valliant Woodworks, at 32634 Gum Road in Roxana, will see demonstrations and be invited to enjoy complimentary cookies, cheeses, pepperoni, coffee, beer and wine.
