BREAKING NEWS: Man assaulted, robbed at gunpoint in Millsboro

The Delaware State Police this week were investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday in Millsboro, in which a 59-year-old man was assaulted and robbed.

 

Police said that on Monday, Dec. 9, around 9:59 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence on Karen Street near Millsboro for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, they said, troopers met with a 59-year-old male resident who advised that while he was outside in the front yard, he was approached by an unknown subject.

 

The man, police said, reported that the suspect had allegedly displayed a handgun and struck the victim with the handgun, causing the victim to fall to the ground. The suspect allegedly demanded the victim empty his pockets, they said, and the suspect allegedly obtained the victim’s wallet, cell phone and keys prior to fleeing the scene.

 

Shortly after the incident, the victim’s bank card was utilized at the Exxon in Seaford, police said. The victim did not sustain an injuries in the incident, they noted.

 

The suspect was described as a black man in his late 20s, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches, 175 pounds, with a full beard, and wearing all dark clothing.
