Robert Lee Riddle, 77

Robert Lee Riddle, 77, of Gumboro, Del., passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Del. He was born in Seaford on Oct. 8, 1942, to the late David and Virginia Huskins Riddle.

Riddle retired from work as a mechanic for Suburban Propane after approximately 20 years of service. He had also worked at Selbyville Ford Tractor as a mechanic in his younger years. Riddle was also a poultry and livestock farmer. He enjoyed Wilson’s Auction and livestock auctions. He loved Sunday dinners and shopping.

In addition to his parents, Riddle was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Riddle, in 2016; a son, Robert Lee Riddle Jr., in 2000; as well as several of his siblings. He is survived by two sons, Steve Riddle and his wife, Lori, and Jimmy Riddle and his wife, Michelle, all of Millsboro, Del.; eight siblings, Cindy, Linda, Hazel, Yvonne, Dorothy, Vivian, Glen and Allan; six grandchildren, Hillary Sellers and her husband, Brett, Bobbi Jo Tice and her husband, Jason, Ryan Riddle, Zachary Riddle and his wife, Tiffany, Adam Riddle and his wife, Jessica, and Dylan Riddle; and 11 great-grandchildren, David, Savannah, Karrigan, Aubree, Parker, Kenliegh, Kaylee, Chase, Spencer, Hayley and Lukas.

A memorial service was to be held Dec. 20, 2019, at John 21 Ministries, Laurel, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations to Meals on Wheels; 546 S. Bedford St.; Georgetown, DE 19947. Condolences may be sent online at
