Hugh Kenneth ‘Ken’ Breckenridge, 90

On Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, Hugh Kenneth “Ken” Breckenridge, 90, wounded veteran of the Korean War, passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center. He was born March 22, 1929, in Forty Fort, Pa. to John R. Breckenridge and Florence Learn.

He was a graduate of MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, Pa. After serving in the U.S. Army, he moved to Delaware and had a long career as a draftsman. He enjoyed making model airplanes and doing woodworking.

Breckenridge was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert and Alan Breckenridge; wife, Josephine Joka; and son Chris Breckenridge. He is survived by his children Ronald Breckenridge and his wife, Susan, Sherryl Breckenridge, and Lisa Blanchette and her husband, Arthur; stepdaughter, Monica Harper; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family thanked the many doctors and nurses and caregivers who helped Breckenridge live comfortably to age 90.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at 2 p.m. at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Del., officiated by the Rev. Art Blanchette. Interment will be held privately at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Del.
