Kenneth Howard ‘Ken’ Savage, 83
Kenneth Howard “Ken” Savage, 83, of Asatula, Fla., formerly of Clarksville, Del., passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 26, 2019. He was born on Sept. 3, 1936, in Bishopville, Md., son of the late Ed Savage and the late Dorothy Savage of Fenwick Island, Del.
Savage graduated from Selbyville High School, then he began his career at Delmarva Power & Light, first as a lineman, then as an electrical engineer, retiring in 1995.
He loved playing gospel and country music, which he did right up until the time he passed away. He also loved the Eastern Shore and the lakes surrounding his home in Florida. He loved the Lord and was involved with his church in Florida, playing music for worship, and as a deacon and musician at his church in Ocean View, Del. He will be remembered as a man who was devoted to God and who loved his family and his grandchildren very much.
Savage was one of 16 brothers and sisters, of which he was the oldest male. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rachel, Mildred, David and Edward. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Rivera and her husband, Mike, of Milford, Del.; son, Ken Savage II and his wife, Amanda, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; his five grandchildren, Denae, Dylan, Ceira, Payton and Noah; his sisters, Margaret, Marion, Joy, Naomi, Joan, Betty and Evelyn; and his brothers, Bob, Donald, Tom and Paul.
A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with memorial service will at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del.
